A giant thank you to our new friends Linda and Char at Junk Evolution for all the gorgeous furniture and props in this shoot (all available for purchase at their store front in South Bend!). Check them out on facebook for shop updates and news!

Also, check out Brit’s awesome work at b.mused knittery (those gorgeous red leg warmers!) and scarf by Yokoo.

A huge thank you to John and Barb for providing us with the perfect backdrop on their gorgeous private property (we love you guys!).

I’m so proud of my friends!! These photos are AMAZING!! Just like the people who took them and the people in them!! LOVE the leg warmers, too Brit!! :-) Almost makes me want to go get married this winter :-)

  3. Linda says:

Beautiful photos! And just the perfect amount of snow..

  4. Brit says:

I love how much attention my red nails demand!

Seriously, I can’t help raving about how amazingly you guys captured us! I sent a link to this post over to Yokoo, and even she said it was breathtaking and posted it on her twitter and facebook :)

Thanks again for such a fun time!

So glad to see you guys back. Hope the website behaves better now. I loved using flanel scarves on the tables with babies breath (breath-taking) and the red berries. I think brides and grooms should be bold like this and use their favorite materials, colors, places. Forget the “usual” and make an absolutely unforgetable day…who could forget a bride in leg warmers??????

Alex and Margaret. Sneak Peek. December 8, 2011

We spent a gorgeous December morning shooting these two.

John and Kathryn. Beloved. November 11, 2011

posted by suzi

John and Kathryn are an inspiration. They have been together for 60 years and are still in love. The care they have for each other is evident in the way they support one another, touch when they laugh, kiss tenderly, hold hands like old friends, and consider the other one first. They have a lifetime of meaningful stories that they happily shared with us. They adoringly talk about their children and grandchildren and show off their pictures and achievements. Their house is full of history.

John’s favorite things about Kathryn physically are “her beautiful hair and nice figure”. We love their laugh lines. And how TALL John is. We love how gentle they are together. We adore the quiet strength John provides for Kathryn. And the openness and laughter that so easily comes out of Kathryn. At this point in their lives, they describe their relationship as relaxed but still growing. This is what we all hope and pray for.

John and Kathryn, thank you for sharing your lives with us. Thank you for the strength of your love through time. Thank you for showing us that there are some things SO worth fighting for and that real love is possible. We look forward to being married as long as you have. We hope that ours will be like yours – a story worth telling. We love you.

Mike and Tina. Engagement. November 9, 2011

posted by suzi

We are in love with Mike and Tina! We love Mike’s shy smile and his tenderness despite his obvious strength. We love Tina’s amazing eyes, blunt humor, and adoration of Mike. These two are so good together. We love that Mike describes their relationship as “bliss” and Tina says “complete.” They have tons of funny stories that kept everyone laughing. And some beautiful, touching ones as well.

Mike and Tina, we cannot wait to be with you again, friends.  We’re so blessed that you are in our lives. Thank you for trusting us with all your stories. You have a special place in our hearts. We can hardly wait for your wedding next year!

This canoe is one that has been in Mike’s family for a long time. When they suggested to do their engagement shoot with it, we thought it was perfect!
